Pandrylaes started jerking around and groaned deeply. The group noticed after the mere flinch they were lowering to the ground again. Chess quickly slipped off the large dragon and jogged over to see his face. Pandrylaes clutched his arm with his claw and curled himself in, gritting his long fangs. "What's wrong?! Is it the wound you got from that monster?" Chess scrambled over his scaly knuckles, wanting to see the wound herself. Pandrylaes swayed himself to lure away Chess, but she persisted. "It's... fine..." he growled. Cher attempted to help Chess remove the large claw covering the wound and so far they had a mere preview of purple scarring forming around it with blood oozing out like a fountain.
"It's worse than I thought..." Chess whimpered, "It's my fault; I shouldn't have used that sword carelessly." "Stop worrying... about me..." Pandrylaes murmured and released his claw from his ravaged arm. "Arachnes usually carry venom," Uruvvion said, "It can't be cured by any doctor." Chess clutched her head and let her fingers run through hair recklessly. Her eyes started to swell and become watery. Cher patted her back to console. Taking a deep breath, Chess sat down in a fetus position, looking at Uruvvion. "It can't be cured?" she sobbed in guilt. Uruvvion circled around and everyone except Pandrylaes, who jerked and moaned in pain, stayed silent.
"There should be a hermit in the mountains north of here who can heal poisonings caused by monsters, but that requires flying for a small trip," Uruvvion finally replied. Chess jumped to her feet and ran back to Pandrylaes, assuring him that they would bring back an antidote. Uruvvion pulled her back and shook his head. "I can't leave him like this and he's a Chosen!" Chess blurted. "How do you expect to get to the mountains? The hermit lives at the peak," Uruvvion debated. Cher and the sprite grunted. Pandrylaes started returning to his human form along with the severe wound. He tried to sit up, only now the group noticed how pale he was. Chess went to his side and felt how cold his body was.
"Thi-This is nothing... I can just go home and rest..." he said. Chess shook her head and argued. "I'm still going to that hermit. Hey, how long will this poison take to before it worsens?" she pointed at Uruvvion and he answered, "About thirty-six hours." Chess nodded and asked Cher to assist her in carrying Pandrylaes, but as she was about to, an elegant carriage quickly stopped near them and someone burst from its doors. "Young master! Young master!" an old man with a blue velvet coat and a small hat rushed over to Pandrylaes' side and attempted to carry him into the carriage. "I saw what happened. I looked all over for him!" he panted with relief, "Oh, but he's injured badly. This work could only be done by those wretched Arachnes!"
"There's only a hermit who could cure him. I'll get the antidote." Chess explained, but the old man frowned and shook his head. "It is too dangerous--" "I caused for this to happen, so I'm taking responsibility," she remarked. Cher sighed at Chess' persistence, wishing her's was as strong. The old man nodded off and did not open to argue, but supported Pandrylaes to the carriage and turned back. "Please, bring the antidote. I beg you..." he whimpered. Chess nodded and the old man continued into the carriage with Pandrylaes and ordered the carriage driver to take off to the mansion.
It was beginning to get dark or perhaps it was the afternoon. Cher wasn't sure of their location until she looked around. There was a stream leading into a nearby forest that trailed with evergreen pines. There were also seldom chirping of birds. "Is this stream to the mountains?" Cher asked, pointing in the direction of the stream to the pine forest. "Good eye, human," Uruvvion said purposely. Chess frowned, walking to Cher's side to walk through the forest. It was dim and damp with the amount of leaves and trunks barricading the soft, grassy trail. However, details of soft ground and dim areas are to be expected in forested places. Cher still feared the dimness, even though it was not intensively dim. She nudged between Uruvvion and Chess to calm herself.
"Hey! We made it out already!" Chess said looking up at the far off mountains. Cher softly cheered, knowing that they would have to climb a large, rugged chain of cliffs, in which hiking wasn't one her strong points. Chess knows this but shoved this aside. "Come on, Cher. I don't like hiking either, but someone's life is on the line here!" Chess persuaded and dragged Cher who had no control over their given mission. They leaped through the meadow, hoping not to destroy any of the exotic and beautiful ferns and flowers. The sprite picked at the flowers as they leaped through, sniffing and sweeping quickly as she flew.
"I hope we get there before nightfall," Chess worried. Uruvvion said that if climbing will take longer than expected then they'll fly up using an air spell. Chess argued, being serious about the matter. "You fatties need to exercise anyway, don't argue," he scoffed. Cher stopped rustling through the tall grass that they were now in. She extended her arm to the side and pinched her triceps. Chess rolled her eyes and grabbed her to move on. "How can think about our weight at a time like this?!" Cher bickered. Uruvvion stayed quiet and Cher snarled.
It was completely dark. Though, the stars gave off a guiding radiance. The moonlight served as a helpful flashlight. Chess could not use hers, because the batteries became languid in power. It took a few hours away before they reached the start of the mountain. The moon moved as they went up the steep mountain path. "I am SO gonna Tarzan's quads after this..." Cher grunted in her tiredness and Chess laughed in her panting. Cher looked up in front of her. She watched Uruvvion as he walked with the frame of his shoulders moving back and forth, his silver hair swaying to the side with the wind and glistening with the moonlight, and the muscles from his back flexing. Cher started shivering, but not from the cool, humid air. She felt her eyes blur and her nose tense up, stinging from the passing breeze, but she couldn't take her eyes off Uruvvion who finally turned back to her.
"Pervert," he said proudly. Cher sniffed and felt something drip onto her chest and she rubbed her nose that was now warm. She rubbed it out of its itchiness and felt a warm liquid on her palm. She stared and her eyes widened. "Wow... This is the first time I ever saw you get a nose bleed!" Chess clapped. "Tell your friend I'm engaged," Uruvvion continued to walk off on the rugged path. Cher felt herself become pale despite her skin's dark complexion. She covered her nostrils with a handkerchief she saved and lowered her eyes, frowning silently. Then there was a crackling noise coming from above them...
tried to come up with something more... XD-...
